Times Thai Streatery: Authentic Thai Cuisine & Cozy Dining in Summit, NJ

Walked by this place and decided to check it out. My conclusion: it’s a FABULOUS addition to Summit! I’ve been to Thailand a few times so my standard is pretty high. Food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. We had the duck salad, green curry, and a basil eggplant dish (forgot the name). Each was wonderfully done! We were so impressed, we decided to try their dessert, despite being full. The owner recommended their sesame icecream and even brought a tiny sample of their green curry ice cream for us to try. Fun and unique flavors. I will be spreading the word and definitely coming back! Definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant!

My family and I have been HUGE fans of Times Thai since their first week opening. I’m Thai American and have had a hard time finding AUTHENTIC, tasty Thai food in the area, but I’m here to say this is it! Every dish we’ve had has been delicious, and we’ve tried a lot.. pad ka prow, pad see ew noodle, green curry, crab fried rice, chicken curry puff, fried calamari, shrimp steamed dumpling, fried dumpling, sticky rice with fresh mango, boba tea (big bonus for my kids!), I could go on and on. The food is always flavorful, fresh, and filling. Times Thai has quickly become one of our local favs, and it’s also the only Thai restaurant my kids like. As if the outstanding food wasn’t enough to keep us coming back time and again, the owners and staff here are pure magic. We are always greeted with a smile and friendly, attentive service. It’s clear how passionate the owner is about quality food and delivering the best experience for his customers. I’m so glad we have this gem of a restaurant in downtown Summit!

The food in general was as if buying a first class ticket straight to Bangkok. I visit every year with my family and we love Thai Foos. This food is very authentic, just like we would have in Thailand. There is a family cozy atmosphere in this restaurant with amazing service. All the servers and owners are very attentive and interactive. They really make you feel at home. It's a very fun place to go as a group. Service is fast. Ask the owner, Tora, about the various clocks he has! The mango sticky rice was incredible!!!!!!!! Better than any I have had in US. I am speechless. Highly recommended. We have back about 5 times since review above. Every time has been the same great experience. Today we came just for desserts. Love it!

The food and service were impeccable! First visit: we had the green curry w/ chicken, pad eggplant basil, and the crispy duck salad. Only critique is that they need to put fresh pineapple in the duck salad. All else was spectacular. Definitely returning!

Absolutely amazing! Times Thai Streatery is a true gem — their dishes are full of authentic flavor. The ingredients taste fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The Crispy Pork Kra Pow and Green Curry were standouts, and the Thai iced tea was perfectly balanced. The home made Thai coconut milk custard was phenomenal. This place did not disappoint — highly recommend to anyone craving real Thai cooking in the Union County area!

First of all, the Floor 1 means if you enter from Woodland Ave. If you look for it within the “mall” from Springfield Ave, walk a flight of stairs and you will see it. Service was absolutely 5-star. Food was between 3-star and 4-star. Here’s why - We ordered two dishes from Chef’s Special. The fried pork belly with fried rice had very rich, Thai flavor. So did the Durian Ice Cream (made by another Thai restaurant based in Brooklyn). Food would be 4-star if we ended here. But the other dish of Thai Style Hainanese Chicken was disappointing as I have tried this many Malaysian restaurants. Nothing wrong with Thai style, the sauce was Thai style and it’s the only highlight. The chicken oil cooked rice was a little dry and couldn’t taste anything made by chicken oil. The chicken skin was a little sticky, probably either not soaked into ice water immediately after cooking or not socked enough time. The meat could be more tender too. It came with a bowl of soup, which was put too much white pepper powder.

Absolutely delicious Thai food! This place is a hidden gem. The flavors are authentic, the ingredients are fresh, and the portions are generous. My husband and I typically come during lunch and order drunken noodle (spicy!) and pad see ew. Both are perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and casual. You can really tell they care about what they’re serving. Highly recommend if you’re craving real Thai food!

So delicious! Very friendly staff and vegetarian/vegan friendly. We ordered a pad Thai, drunken noodle, and pineapple fried rice. Lovely ambience, too. They were also very sweet to give us a honey ginger ice cream on the house as a thank you for waiting! We will be back :)
